I still remember that day when we decided to clean up the kitchen pantry. We explained the rules to the kids, how to read the ingredients on every packet of food carefully. Sharing those rules here with you all.

  1. If it came from a plant, eat it; if it was made in a plant, don’t
  2. Avoid food with more than 5 ingredients and with something which a 10-year-old cannot pronounce – emulsifiers, food enhancers, maltodextrin, E621, E262
  3. Avoid foods that have some form of sugar (or sweetener) listed among the top three ingredients – molasses, fructose, corn syrup, golden syrup
  4. Avoid foods you see advertised on television
  5. Eat only foods that will eventually rot
