I encourage use of props during the Hatha sessions I conduct online or offline.
The students come with different levels of flexibility, different goals and different preferences. So props come handy as they ensure every student gets to experience the asana to maximum extent of flexibility and alignment.
As a teacher I want to make sure that the asana they practice is with right alignment. That not only avoids risk of any injury but also offers complete benefit to the body.
Props also enable the practitioner to hold the asana for longer duration improving the therapeutic benefits of the particular asana. In this video, Virbhadrasana is practiced with the chair and brick.
