A lot of us have unacknowledged pain in our life. To think that it’s not true for you is to believe in fiction. Pain is always going to be in our life simply because we are human beings, and suffering will always be a natural part of it.
At times suffering is also the reason and the path we take for our growth. Sometimes, it is said, it is necessary for our growth. But if we are unable to deal with that suffering in the right way, it has undesirable consequences that lead to misbehaviours that affect other people around us and become a cause for their suffering as well.
There are many things (“wrongs” in our perception) that each one of us has experienced, at the hands of caregivers, parents, guardians, uncles, aunts, school and college mates and teachers, partners, work colleagues, our social environment, and even ourselves.
We have all experienced some grief and by not giving it due attention and space, it becomes part of us in a way that could harm our relationship with ourselves. And if we don’t have a good relationship with ourselves, there is no question of having a good relationship with others around us.
In the inner work sessions that we take every Friday at 6:00 PM, on a pay-as-you-wish mode, we work on different aspects of our development – emotional, mental, spiritual, cultural, and social. Here we try to explore the root of our issues through meditation, discourse, dialogue, practical exercises, and psychodrama practices.
We do the inner work to become a better version of ourselves. And thereby deliver on our responsibility to be kind and compassionate people, for a better life for ourselves and those we love, to begin with, and thereby for a better world.
