Meet Praneet!

18-year-old young college student originally from Odisha, but now settled in Bangalore and studying hotel management 1st year.

Before getting introduced to clean eating he used to eat and enjoy anything and everything that was tasty.

In school days he used to play basketball every day. His typical day involved around studying, shooting for his cooking videos, eating and sleeping.

He has asthma and dust allergy and he had also tried going to the gym and eating healthy for some time.

When asked why he wanted to try clean eating, this is what he said,

“I had just turned 18 and finally became independent. Hence, I wanted to love who I was, and I decided to not care about anyone’s opinion of me. Clean eating was a huge part of my self-love journey. The main reason I did it was to work on myself and my mental health. In the end, it worked out.

In the beginning, he thought it was impossible.  He thought he would only have to eat vegetables! ?

But then talking to saee inspired him to begin.  He saw how she was living a happy and peaceful life and he wanted to live like that too.

In the first week itself, he went to level two and then quickly to level three. He was and he is still a very determined person. He wanted to do it without any excuses. Hence, He jumped the first level.

Initial Challenges faced –

Balancing with college, professional life that is shooting cooking videos and cake videos was challenging! Being a cake decorator, it was difficult to not taste his food. He managed to do it because of his experience making cakes nonstop. Slowly, He got used to living that lifestyle.

Also, the timing was very difficult for him. He managed to eat on time in college by going to the nearby fruit shops to eat lunch.

After a couple of weeks into clean eating, he could breathe better. He felt a lot more awake even though he didn’t sleep long hours due to his work. He also shed some extra kgs of weight.

This is what he shared when asked about his journey –

How did people react?

“Honestly, everyone who knew I was doing the clean eating challenge thought I was crazy for doing so. I’d go out for a party but only eat a salad when everyone is eating food that’s filled with cheese and other processed food.”

What did you enjoy most about clean eating?

“I enjoyed everything about it. In specific I loved how I was eating so much fruit. After clean eating, I started eating new foods with ingredients I had never eat before. My favorite part was feeling so alive after eating healthy each day.”

How do you feel in the body?

“My body felt fresher. Lighter and I did lose some excess weight. My breathing became better too.”

How do you feel in mind?

“The main reason I did this was to help myself be happier with who I was. In the end, I was the happiest person ever. I loved everything about myself. I was mentally more confident.”

This is what he wants to say before ending the conversation ?

I recommend clean eating or a whole plant-based diet for every teenager. It is a very difficult challenge at the start, but you will get used to a healthy lifestyle and you’ll start to love yourself more. The reason why is because a lot of teens nowadays don’t like who they are, and they also hate their bodies. Clean eating is one step towards working on yourself and your body and your mental health.
