Mango SandaNa/Dhonus

Ingredients :

Mango /Jackfruit pulp – 2 cups

Rice rava – 1.5 cups

Coconut milk – 1 cup

Date Paste – 15-18 dates

Grated coconut – 1/4 cup

Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp

Soaked & chopped nuts for garnishing

 

Method

  1. Soak rice rava in mango pulp and coconut milk for 2 hrs.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well
  3. Transfer to idli tray. Garnish with nuts and steam for 10-12 minutes
  4. For Baking Line the cake tin with parchment paper and transfer the mixture. Garnish with nuts
  5. Bake in OTG for 45 minutes at 180C.

Variation –

  1. You can make a similar cake or steamed sandana using jackfruit pulp.
  2. Adjust the sweetness as per your preference.
  3. You may dip this steamed sandana in coconut milk and dates mixture as well.
  4. You can also sprinkle some mixture of grated coconut and dates.
