Choco – Coconut Healthy Pops

These pops are made from leftover roti which kids or even adults won’t eat happily. Add few extra ingredients makes it interesting and creative. Kids will enjoy these pops without knowing what is sitting inside it.

 

Ingredients

4-5 leftover chapati

1/2 cup fresh coconut 

8-9 almonds /peanuts or any nuts of your choice 

1/4 tsp Vanilla essence (Natural) or Cardamom powder

13-15 dates (washed and pitted)

3 tbsp cocao powder

3 tbsp crushed peanuts or finely chopped dry fruits and nuts

3 tbsp desiccated coconut

 

For Chocolate dip  (Option 1)

3 tbsp of cacao beans

¼ cup of melted jaggery or Joney bella

Instruction

  1. Grind leftover chapati to fine powder
  2. Roast it lightly till it is fragrant and  keep aside
  3. Lightly roast fresh coconut till fragrant and keep aside
  4. Lightly roast nuts of your choice and grind to fine powder and keep aside
  5. In a mixer grinder add chapati powder,coconut, nut powder, cocao powder, nut powder, 

essence and dates.

  1. Blend till it incorporates we1l.
  2. Transfer to a plate and add crushed nuts and dry fruits
  3. Mix well and roll it into small balls
  4. coat it with desiccated coconut.
  5. Place it on any wooden stick and serve to kids

 

If you want to be more creative.

 

Option 1

  1. Grind the cacao beans to fine powder till becomes like butter
  2.  Add liquid jaggery or jony bella and mix well
  3. Dip the balls in the chocolate dip and transfer it to parchment paper
  4. Freeze it for 20-25 minutes.

 

These balls taste best when chilled.

 

Variation –

 

  1. You may make two colour dough add roll
  2. You may also freeze peanut butter small ball and cover with dough
  3. You may drizzle some roasted sesame seeds/crushed nuts on the chocolate
