INGREDIENTS

2 cups of Sprouted Green Gram
stock
1 cup toor dal stock
2 tbsp tamarind pulp
1 cup coconut milk
1 green chilly vertically slit
1/4 tsp. cummin seeds (jeera)
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
2 pinch of salt
7-8 dates (grind to fine paste)
or 2 tbsp of jaggery
7-8 curry leaves

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a thick bottom vessel add green gram ( sprouted whole
    moong) stock.
  2. Add toor dalstock to it.
  3. Add slit chilies vertically
  4. Add tamarind pulp.
  5. Place the vessel on the gas and bring it to a boil.
  6. Switch off the gas and add coconut milk, date paste/jaggery, and salt.
  7. Heat tadka pan add mustard seeds. Let it splutter.
  8. Now add cumin seeds. Let it crackle . Now add hing and curry leaves.
  9. Add some water and let it simmer.
  10. Transfer the tadka to the vessel.
  11. Our saar is ready to serve.

NOTES
For Sprouted green gram stock – Boil the
sprouted green gram (moong ) in 3 cups
of water for 7-8 min.
For Toor dal stock. Pressure cook dal with
1 cup extra water. Pass the cooked toor
dal through siever.
Rock salt to taste.
