INGREDIENTS
2 cups of Sprouted Green Gram
stock
1 cup toor dal stock
2 tbsp tamarind pulp
1 cup coconut milk
1 green chilly vertically slit
1/4 tsp. cummin seeds (jeera)
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
2 pinch of salt
7-8 dates (grind to fine paste)
or 2 tbsp of jaggery
7-8 curry leaves
DIRECTIONS
- In a thick bottom vessel add green gram ( sprouted whole
moong) stock. - Add toor dalstock to it.
- Add slit chilies vertically
- Add tamarind pulp.
- Place the vessel on the gas and bring it to a boil.
- Switch off the gas and add coconut milk, date paste/jaggery, and salt.
- Heat tadka pan add mustard seeds. Let it splutter.
- Now add cumin seeds. Let it crackle . Now add hing and curry leaves.
- Add some water and let it simmer.
- Transfer the tadka to the vessel.
- Our saar is ready to serve.
NOTES
For Sprouted green gram stock – Boil the
sprouted green gram (moong ) in 3 cups
of water for 7-8 min.
For Toor dal stock. Pressure cook dal with
1 cup extra water. Pass the cooked toor
dal through siever.
Rock salt to taste.
