More Than a Meal: The Magic of Our Moving Potlucks
When we began hosting potlucks at Poshak Life, the idea was simple — bring people together over clean, nourishing, plant-based food. But as the months passed, we realized: these gatherings weren’t just about food. They were about connection, sharing, and reminding each other that we’re not alone on this journey.
Three years later, our potlucks have become something beautiful. So much so, that we’ve decided to make them more frequent. Because every single one leaves us with something unforgettable — a new insight, a moment of laughter, a heartfelt exchange.
Each potluck is held in a different home. We call them our “moving potlucks.” People open up not just their homes but also their hearts and lives.
Once, we spent the afternoon with a young-at-heart couple in their 80s, who had lived a life of discipline and purpose. Their presence was calming, and their wisdom — humbling. Another time, we gathered at a young host’s house, played music and games, and rediscovered the joy of childlike fun.
Even when we meet the same set of people again, there’s always something new to discover — because we are all changing all the time. There’s always a shift in thought, a new question, a deeper reflection.
Food is always the anchor.
Many guests are stunned when they see a complete spread made without oil, dairy, or refined sugar. “Wait… there’s no ghee in this laddoo?” or “How did you make that creamy dip without any cream?”
They’re not just curious — they’re delighted.
Often, we hear this line at the end: “Our stomachs are full, but our minds are still hungry for more!”
We exchange recipes, ideas, and tricks. Something as simple as an ash gourd soup turns magical when made with a few humble vegetables and a whole lot of love.
💛 The Kindness Table – Our Little Showstopper
One of the most joyful corners at our potlucks is the Kindness Table.
People bring pre-loved books, toys, clothes, or handmade treasures. And they pick up whatever brings them joy. Kids bring their paintings and cards. Someone leaves hand-painted bookmarks. Another time, a guest brought a tiny handmade musical instrument.
It’s not about things — it’s about energy. The joy of giving, receiving, and sharing. This table reminds us how happiness multiplies when it flows freely.
🕊️ From Our Hearts to Yours
To everyone who has shared their space with us — thank you.
To those who cooked, cleaned, sang, played, and smiled with us — we are so grateful.
You’ve helped build something that feels sacred, alive, and needed.
We’ll be back soon on 2nd Aug, a new home, and many new stories.
Until then — keep experimenting, stay curious, and may your meals be nourishing in every sense of the word.
With gratitude,
Team Poshak Life
